The Florida Center for Early Childhood Announces Three New Board Members

THE FLORIDA CENTER FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD ANNOUNCES THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Nov 4, 2017 (Sarasota, FL) The Florida Center for Early Childhood, a local nonprofit serving children and their families in Sarasota, Charlotte, Manatee and DeSoto/Hardee counties, announced that Steve Devitt, of Sarasota, Dr. JoAnn Spiegel of Sarasota, and Olga Strelkov of North Port, all of Sarasota  have joined The Florida Center board for three-year terms.

“We are excited to welcome Steve, JoAnn and Olga to The Florida Center and are incredibly thankful for the enthusiasm and expertise they will bring. All three will certainly be assets to our agency and the community,” said The Florida Center’s president and CEO, Kathryn Shea.

Devitt is currently the business development officer at Centennial Bank in Sarasota and had previously served on boards for Kiwanis Club of Sarasota and Southside School Foundation. He has also been named Kiwanian of the Year, presented by the Florida Kiwanis Foundation.

Dr. JoAnn Spiegel has a lifelong career in education with a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Spiegel has taught locally at the University of South Florida-Sarasota/Manatee and Ringling College Lifelong Learning Academy, in education, adult and child psychology, and development. Previous board experience includes the United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh School of Education.

Olga Strelkov is a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management in Sarasota. She has a degree in elementary education and a minor in special needs education. She has extensive experience as a volunteer and fundraiser for several non-profit organizations and churches, and is part of the SOAR women’s group in Sarasota County.
