The Starfish Academy at The Florida Center is a nationally accredited inclusion preschool program serving children 6 weeks to five years old including Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK).
Our highly trained, nurturing educators focus on teaching important skills to prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. The Starfish Academy incorporates music, art and drama into our early childhood education to encourage growth for the "whole child." The Starfish Academy follows the Creative Curriculum and the MindUP™ curriculum to support increasing social and emotional skills while in the classroom, at home and in the community.
Our classrooms are designed to meet the needs of both typically developing children and children needing additional supports. We utilize a developmentally appropriate curriculum, with hands on experiences and fun activities conducted daily in classrooms, as well as on site Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Therapy. As experts in early childhood development, our skilled teaching staff works very closely with on-site therapist to identify potential developmental issues or delays as early as possible. As an integral part of the early childhood community, The Florida Center has established strong partnerships to ensure every child and family receive the coordinated services and support they need from our community.
We offer voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) programming. VPK is a FREE 3 hour prekindergarten program for all 4-year-olds on or before September 1 of the program year who reside in Florida.
