A 2020 Resolution You Can Keep
By Chief Development Officer Kristen Theisen
The start of a new year is always a popular time to take a step back and reflect – what am I happy with about my life? What would I like to change or improve? We always hear about those resolutions and how short they typically last, leaving many people feeling disappointed or defeated.
So here is my suggestion – let’s make resolutions to benefit others! It feels good to do good, so why wouldn’t we want to keep it up?
Maybe you can start volunteering for a cause you are passionate about, or you can do one random act of kindness each week. Maybe you can forego that specialty coffee or Friday lunch and spend that money instead on a monthly donation to an organization like The Florida Center? At the end of the year, just imagine what that contribution could be! So you didn’t run a marathon or lose 20 pounds, but you will have changed a child’s life.
